Is software testing helps me to become good developer?

Hello guys, i graduated in the major of computer sciense since 2005. and from that time I didnt work as a developer rather I worked 2 years ago as a software tester(manual). iam now 31 and I decided to change my career to software devewloping, so is my experience as a software maual tester helps me to become good developer? and how?
