Update in Gridview

i'm lookin' to update the row in gridview.The issue is that when i write this code i.e convert.toint32(gridview1.datakeys[e.rowindex].values[0].tostring()); it ends up in argumentoutofrange exception.The gridview format is somethin' like this

serial_no product_id
1 100 edit
2 200 edit

The unique key value is assumed to be serial_no.

Please suggest.
